Bracelet size guide

Not sure which length to choose? Measure your wrist, add a little room, and you're there. Every Glasaje bracelet is made to order in Melbourne, so it's worth a minute to get the length right.

Our bracelet lengths

Our 9ct solid gold bracelets come in four lengths. Each length is measured end to end, including the clasp.

14 cmPetite
16 cmSmall
18 cmMedium
20 cmLarge

Bracelet length is always a little longer than your wrist. That extra room is what lets a chain sit and move comfortably.

How do I measure my wrist?

You'll need a soft tape measure. A strip of paper or a piece of string and a ruler work just as well.

  1. Wrap the tape, paper or string around your wrist, just above the wrist bone. Measure the wrist you'll wear your bracelet on.
  2. Keep it flat against your skin, snug but not tight. If you're using paper or string, mark where the end overlaps.
  3. Lay it flat against a ruler and measure to the mark. This is your wrist size. Use the chart below to find your bracelet length.

Already own a bracelet that fits well? Unclasp it, lay it flat and measure it end to end, clasp included. That number is your bracelet length.

Bracelet size chart

Our recommendations are based on an everyday fit, which adds about 2 cm to your wrist size.

Glasaje bracelet lengths 14 to 20 cm with matching wrist sizes in centimetres and inches
Glasaje length Length (in) Wrist size Wrist size (in)
14 cm 5.5" 12 - 13 cm 4.7 - 5.1"
16 cm 6.3" 13.1 - 15 cm 5.2 - 5.9"
18 cm 7.1" 15.1 - 17 cm 5.9 - 6.7"
20 cm 7.9" 17.1 - 19 cm 6.7 - 7.5"

Right on the line between two lengths? Go up a size. A chain that's slightly roomy is more comfortable than one that's tight.

Choosing your fit

Fit is personal. Start with your wrist size, then add the room that suits how you like to wear it.

Close fit

Wrist + 1 cm

Sits neatly on the wrist with very little movement. Good for fine chains worn every day.

Everyday fit · Recommended

Wrist + 2 cm

Room for about one finger between chain and skin. Moves naturally without slipping over your hand.

Relaxed fit

Wrist + 3 cm

Drapes lower towards the hand for a softer, looser look.

Sizing for a stack

  • Your arm widens as it moves up from the wrist. If a bracelet will sit higher in your stack, measure where it will sit, or go up one length.
  • Keep about one finger of room in each piece. Bracelets that are too loose move more and are more likely to tangle.
  • Place your heaviest or widest piece closest to the hand and finer chains above it.
  • Mixing lengths, such as a 16 cm and an 18 cm, lets each chain sit at its own level and stay visible.

Buying a bracelet as a gift

If you can, borrow a bracelet they already wear and measure it end to end. If that's not possible, most adult wrists sit around 15 to 16 cm, which makes 18 cm a sensible starting point.

Made to order, in your length

Each bracelet is made to order in Melbourne in the length you choose. Bracelets take 15 to 20 business days to make before they're sent. If you're unsure between sizes, or need a length outside our range, get in touch before you order and we'll help you choose.

Frequently asked questions about bracelet sizing

What size bracelet should I get?

Measure your wrist just above the wrist bone and add about 2 cm for an everyday fit. A 15 cm wrist suits our 16 cm bracelet for a closer fit, or 18 cm for more movement.

What is the most common bracelet size?

Most adult wrists measure 15 to 16 cm, so 18 cm is our most versatile length. Always measure if you can, as wrists vary.

How much room should a bracelet have?

You should be able to slip about one finger between the bracelet and your wrist. That gives the chain room to move without sliding over your hand.

Should I size up or down if I'm between sizes?

Size up. A slightly roomier chain is more comfortable for everyday wear than one that feels tight.

Is bracelet length measured with the clasp?

Yes. Our bracelet lengths are measured end to end, including the clasp.
